By “vote” of course, I’m really talking about expressing my opinion at proposed bills and current events and AUTOMATICALLY having those opinions get sent to my Senators and House Representatives. I’ve found the Countable #mobileapp and site to be pretty good and much simpler than house.gov or senate.gov which I find to be “information landfills” – that is, someday, someone will “pave over” the mound of data and make those sites actually citizen consumable.
I like Countable’s ability to “vote” and “like” others opinions and review the various issues that are presented. You can easily see how your members in Congress have voted on each too. The issue background is ok but wish they had a link to the full bill text (although be careful what I ask for – those bills are lengthy but you can find some useful nuggets in there).
If you prefer phone calls to your reps, then 5Calls seems like a nice #mobileapp option. 5Calls provides a call script and phone numbers for your reps. Handy! Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, it’s important to stay informed and see how your reps are doing in exactly that: representing your voice with their votes.
